Pyrotechnics do not belong in national parks

Fireworks disturb domestic and wild animals and annoy many people, especially when they want to relax from the noise of the city in the silence of nature. However, fireworks also increase the concentration of heavy metals in the air, albeit briefly but significantly. On the other hand, it is a fact that various firecrackers and "fireworks" have become a part of New Year's celebrations. In the summer of 2017, an amendment to the Nature and Landscape Protection Act came into force, prohibiting the use of fireworks and recreational pyrotechnics in national parks.

At the end of the year, there is also an increase in another negative phenomenon, namely the release of so-called "flying lanterns of happiness." This activity is also now prohibited by the Nature and Landscape Protection Act throughout the national park, with the exception of built-up areas and areas suitable for development. The main reasons for this are the spread of waste and the risk of fire.

The Krkonoše National Park Administration appeals to visitors and local residents not to use fireworks at all. If you want to celebrate the end of the year in the Krkonoše Mountains, do not bring any firecrackers with you. You will not disturb anyone, you will not break the law, and you will save money.
