Hanka's journey

The route, which branches off from the hustle and bustle of the town just behind the bus station, winds its way through meadows and pastures. It undulates gently without any major hills, but offers wonderful views of the countryside, especially the Krkonoše Mountains and, in particular, Černá hora and Liščí hora. The locals named it after Vrchlabí native Hana Jüptnerová, a teacher and dissident, signatory of Charter 77. Once you walk the trail, you will understand why the people of Vrchlabí love it so much.

Horní Lánov Nature Trail

You can also learn about the world of animals and plants and have fun with your children on the new nature trail in Horní Lánov and at its many entertaining stops. You can shelter from the rain in a covered gazebo and roast sausages on the fire pit, but you'll have to bring your own.

 3.

Lánov

The first mention of Lánov dates back to 1355, but even at that time, Lánov was a village with many cottages located mainly along the Malé Labe river. The main livelihood of the locals was mainly cattle breeding and farming, domestic textile production, limestone mining and processing, which has been preserved to this day. On the outskirts of Lánov, you will find a sports airport for gliders and sailplanes, which has been in operation since 1933.
